My mother-in-laws maiden name was SMITH. She was born and raised on DRY CREEK, ADA CO., BOISE. She always maintained that SMITH'S FERRY was owned and operated by her grandfather or perhaps GGrandfather SMITH, thus the name Smith's FERRY. What I need to find out is if anyone has information about the early origens of Smith's FERRY and the history of it's beginnings and the SMITH who owned it. Any information may be helpful. My husband and I live in Cascade and pass by Smith's FERRY often and I can't help but wonder if Russell really is a descendent of this Mr. Smith. He sure claimes it's true...but I want proof! :)
