Can I ask for one more favor. Hoping to get the obit for Charles and Rose Stample's daughter Hattie Stample Tvrdy, wife of Frank Tvrdy, who died Jun 10, 1917 in Clover, Idaho.
Tvrdy is my married name. There seems to be some mystery here about the real surname for Hattie and father Charles.
Thank You,
Jean

A second son, Samuel Standlee died on 12 Nov 1941 in Blackfoot.

This year is the 150th anniversary of LDS Pioneer Elizabeth Russell Archibald's immigration to Utah.

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada.

A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

For more details contact Brandon Sundeen. Phone: 503-396-2178 OR email: brandonsundeen@gmail.com

Please help us get the word out. Pass this information on to all of your extended family so that they may attend if they are interested.

Hi Joyce,
I found the Curl family in 1880 in Taylor, Sullivan, Missouri.
Alexander Curl, b. PA, 52, farmer.
Sarah, wife, b. PA, 48.
William L., b. IL, 21, helps on farm.
James, b. IL, 19, helps on farm.
Barnet E., b. IL, 17, helps on farm.
May, b. IL, 14.
Cephes, son, b. MO, 12, helps on farm.
Belle, b. MO, 9.

In 1900 some of the family was living in Taylor.
Cephus Curl, head household, b. MO July 1868, single, farmer.
Alex S. father, b. PA April 1828, widower.
Elizabeth, sister, b. MO Oct 1870 widow [I think this is a mistake], housekeeper, single.
Jim Nilson, farm laborer.

In 1920 Elizabeth and John Nelson were living in Lowe, Kay, Oklahoma.
John A. Nelson, b. PA, 43, farmer.
Elizabeth B., wife, b. MO, 45.
Ralpha A., b. OK, 13.
Harold C., b. OK, 11.
Robert A., b. OK, 9.
Lillian Belle, b. OK, 3 7/12ths.

I didn't find Elizabeth of John in Idaho. Maybe they moved their after the 1930 Census. The 1940 Census will be released April 2 but who knows when it will be indexed.

I also found the McEwen-Serio 2010 family tree, trees.ancestry.com/tree/20079613/person/974831506. I thought you might want to contact the owner. Most larger libraries have free access to Ancestry.

Elizabeth died in Twin Falls on 4 March 1935. There are two Twin Falls obituary volunteers at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volid.html . Choose ONE at a time.

Idaho restricts access to death information for 50years after the death. John doesn't appear on their death index even though it's been 50 years. I'd contact the Clerk of the District (who's also the Auditor & Recorder), twinfallscounty.org/dir/clerk.htm for a copy of his death certificate. You'll find his death date on it and then you can request a copy of his obituary too. Successful Searching!

The Social Security Death Index:
Emma Cadot, born 21 Sep 1908, died 29 June 1998, SSN issued in Washington (State) before 1951. "Last Residence:" Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, ID.
---The "last residence" on the SSDI is NOT necessarily where a person actually lived or died. The Social Security Administration calls it simply the "home of record," and possibly the address where correspondence by the SSA was sent. It is not necessarily where any benefit was paid to the person, survivor, or the lumpsum death benefit (in years past, it was paid to anyone paying burial expenses, family member, funeral home, city/county, attorney; today, a living spouse). It is sometimes the location where the notification of death was sent to the SSA, sometimes where the lump sum death benefit was sent.

US Public Records:
Emma Cadot living at 265 E 24th St, Yuma, AZ, 85364, in 1993.
There was a Howard E. Cadot identified at this address in 1992.
Howard E. Cadot, born 2 Jan 1912, died Feb 1993 in Yuma, Yuma Co, AZ.
Howard and Emma purchased land in Lewis County, WA in 1984.
Another with that name born 28 Aug 1936, died 26 Mar 2003.

US Public Records 2:
Emma Cadot, born 21 Sep 1908, at:
2779 W. 8th St, Yuma,
926 Moreland Ave, Shelton, WA
1345 Baltimore St, Longview
491 Caswell Ave W, Twin Falls (No DOB shown).
195 Tyler St, Twin Falls (No DOB shown)

Both of the last two addresses are found in her name at www.zabasearch.com BUT, this database shows old records.
--The Twin Falls County Recorder has no database records online.
--491 Caswell Ave W is the Woodstone Retirement Center, 208-734-6062
--195 Tyler Street is a single family residence, built 1950, 2,234 Sq Ft.

Based on above, it "appears" she may have died in Twin Falls, but at her age there might not have been an obit. MANY elderly do not. This is due to their own request, few family or friends in the area, hadn't been in the area long, or the family decision based on many factors to include financial. You could contact the Retirement Center to see if they have, or will provide, any information.

Ron,
Thanks for the great information. This individual has been much of a mystery to me having found no death date, and no family members had any recollection of this "uncle". I did have the census information and Maude's death, and also a patent the Wilbert received in the early 50's. I am looking for any information and you have provided much that I have not looked at yet. Thank you.
Also, to confuse things more, he appears to have used both Wilbert and Charles as first names, or so they appear in many records. Could be the way they were recorded.
I have gotten a lead on a death date in 1957, so I will be checking that out to ensure he is the correct individual. Thanks again for your time and information that you provided.
