I am looking for my great grandfather Albert(Shorty) Anderson. His wife was Thisbe Louise (Lula) Allen. He worked on the Milner Dam for a short time, it is beleived he had a team or teams of cattle and may have ran a fresno as work on the dam. He claims to have came from Sweden and was a short man probably at that time arond mid 30's. His wife Lula was a midwife nd also cooked for the men who worked in the camps. They had 2 small sons at that time. After Milner they moved to Cassia Co and worked on farms and with cattle also. If anyone has any info on him it would be appreciated if you would post or email. We have hit a brick wall and can't move on. Thanks Kathy Gibson azgibsonclan@yahoo.com

There were additional clues not identified by the other "researcher", and also some normal errors:

The 1910 census for Milner, Twin Falls County, enumerated 23 May 1910:
--Daniel was 9/12ths in age, based on the enumeration date he was born around August 1909.
--Albert's citizenship identified he immigrated in 1890, the "PA" stands for "Papers", the official term. Not "pending naturalization application". He would have already filed his Declaration of Intention, the initial documents toward naturalization.

The family was enumerated twice in 1920 (that information wasn't made clear, as to why there were two census reports).
---The first, the 2nd day of January by Emma McIntosh at Boulder Farm, Cassia County, ID.
Albert A, age 45, born in Utah to both parents born in Sweden, a farmer, Owned his property.
Lula, age 31, born in Utah to both parents born in the US
Albert, Jr, age 12, born in California (CA) to both parents born in Utah.
Vaness, age 11, born in CA
Raymond 9, born in ID.
---The Second, enumerated 1 February by W.A. Martins at Locust, Cassia County, ID.
Anderson (no first name identified), age 47, born in Illinois to both parents born in Sweden, gen(eral) farmer, owned his farm.
Lula, 32, born in Utah to both parents born in Utah
Albert, age 12 11/12 (by enumeration date, born in Feb/March 1907)
Vanness, 11 6/12 (born about July/August 1908)
Raymond, 9 4/12 (about November 1910).
---why the errors on the two forms? The data depended on who provided the information and the ability of the enumerator. Lula goes from age 31 to age 32, so was she born on a date in January, thus aged a year between the two census? Or just a mistake on the form.

The 1930 Census for Locust, Cassia County, ID
It again shows Albert born in Sweden

Daniel:
Both the 1910 and 1920 Census show Daniel/Vaness as being born about August. Thus, the Daniel Anderson born 2 Oct 1908 found by the other researcher may NOT be the correct person.
----IT Wasn't the correct person:
The Social Security Death Index identifies a Vanness D. Anderson, born July 1909, died 26 December 1991. His "last residence" was in Burley, Cassia County, Idaho.
--a family tree is found containing Vanness:
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/11543988/person/-443715889?ss...=
His father was identified as being "Shorty" Anderson

Raymond:
--The 1920 Census shows Raymond shows age as 9 4/12, so the Raymond found by the other researcher, born in June, may not be the correct person. Same as the one found in King County, Washington, born 10 September 1911, this person would have only have been 8 in the 1920 census.

The Bureau of Land Management has a website for Homestead Act Land Patents:
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/

It shows land obtained by Albert Anderson in Cassia County, of 80 acres, on 1/3/1957. Since this is a fairly recent purchase, this "might" be the son of Albert, or the grandson?

This land was located at the Boise Meridan, Township 12-S(south), Range 22-East, Section 26., the area of W1/2NW, (the west 1/2 of the NW quarter). If this land is in the family, I can show you how to locate the land via a Plat map.
