Ephraim W. KING and Margaret L. WILLIAMS-KING are my 3ggrandparents. I know they are buried in the Filer IOOF Cemetery and have copied that entire cemetery record and found several of their children and grandchildren. What I am looking for is some sort of obit for Margaret especially. She was on the 1910 census for Twin Falls County with Ephraim. Then she was gone on the 1920 census. Her headstone says she died in 1911. Ephraim died in 1931. Is there any information out there so I can find out about them? I have a picture taken after Margaret died. It seems, from the clothing, that the family may have been Mennonites, Quakers, Church of the Brethren, etc. The children married and most lived in the same area. Sally HIGGINBOTHAM, Cora COPHER, Nancy QUINN, Vina SWANSON, Mary LONG, and one son William S.KING married Ressia June QUINN (sister of the husband of Nancy King). Any help would be appreciated! Hi Rita,
You can request obituaries from Random Acts Genealogical Kindness. Go to www.raogk.org, read instructions, choose Idaho, choose Twin Falls Co.

Obits during that period of time were not as common as today. A true obit was usually written by a reporter on a famous/imfamous or victim of crime. A death notice was written by a local funeral home, but was usually just a name and death date; more of an advertisement than an obit. Obits were usually not written as most believed anyone knowing them would know of the death; or the departed hadn't been in the area long; or, just economical reasons.
