Robert Don Ekstrom
October 1, 1928 ~ January 27, 2018

Robert Don Ekstrom passed away at home in the early morning of January 27th, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness. He was born to Emil Albert and Wilhemina Ellis Ekstrom. He was raised and attended school in Malad, Idaho. He entered the military as a proud member of the Marine Corp. He served for 7 yrs. in China and Japan, as well as in the States.

He married Dorothy Ann Eisenhour on Oct. 22, 1950 in Yuma, AZ. They had 6 children. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1964. They celebrated their 67th anniversary last October.

He accepted and served many LDS church callings. He enjoyed many years of racing his Cutter Team, riding ATV's, hunting, fishing, camping, and daily cribbage games with his beautiful wife.

He worked as a Production Planner at Hill Air Force Base, and retired after 29 years. He then worked as Superintendent of Water and Roads for Richmond City. He retired in 1990. He served as a Volunteer Fireman, and was a member of the Richmond Rider's, Lyon's Club and American Legion for many years.

He enjoyed 10 years of wintering with his wife in Arizona, where they made many long lasting friends. They took many trips and enjoyed every destination and each other's company.

The Family would like to thank his many Doctors, Nurses, and Hospice Staff that wholeheartedly cared for him during his health problems.

He was preceeded in death by his son Marlin Don Ekstrom, Parents, Siblings Dorothy M. Holland Titus, Harold Ekstrom, Julia Lorraine Palfreyman, June Cone, Billy Ekstrom, and Lamont Ekstrom.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ann Ekstrom of Roy, UT, Children Diana (Allan) Karras of Roy, UT, Carleen (Norton) Thurgood of Richmond, UT, Julia Hanna of Roy, UT, Lewis (Terril) Ekstrom of West Haven, UT, and Jennifer Ekstrom (Troy) Brown of Smithfield UT. Sister Maxine Stone of Clinton, UT, and Brother Ronald J. Wise of Ogden, UT

A viewing will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Myers Mortuary - 5865 South 1900 West in Roy, UT.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Richmond City Cemetery 398 North 200 East Richmond, UT.
