Hanna Lou Williams
Malad...Hanna Lou (Louise) Williams born Jan. 12th, 1928 to Arthur T. and Nora (Harrison) Williams in Malad, Idaho, the 8th of 10 children, passed away of natural causes on Aug. 13th, 2017 in her home, at the age of 89.
Hanna Lou spent her youth with her siblings and cousins, enjoying the freedom of life on a ranch “up Deep Creek” in and around Williams’ Grove. She attended Malad Schools and graduated from Malad High School. Fulfiling her dream she, she became an RN after attending the LDS Nursing School in Idaho Falls Idaho. She worked for the Malad Hospital, St. Alphonsus Hospital, State of Idaho Public Health Department and took care of the terminally ill.
She married Dee Jay Williams of Malad, Idaho on August 8th 1950 in Carlin, Nevada. They later solemnized their marriage in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. When they were also sealed to their 7 children on March 29, 1965.
Hanna Lou was active in the LDS church and raised her children in the knowledge of the Gospel. She served in the Primary, Scouting Program, Visiting Teaching, and Library (her favorite calling). She worked in the Spanish name extraction program for over 20 years and continued on into the indexing programing until her death, giving thousands the opportunity to return to their Heavenly Father.
She bathed, kissed and diapered many baby bottoms as she loved and cared for each of her grandchildren. She made many quilts, afghans, toys, wash cloths and pillows. Each Christmas brings joy as her home made Christmas ornaments are hang on the trees.
Hanna Lou enjoyed sister trips such as cruises to Alaska and through the Panama Canal, white water rafting, trips to Hawaii, meeting Robert Redford, hot air ballooning and anything her adventurous sisters could think of. She loved being with her siblings.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother A. LaVen Williams, sisters Lillith Jones Tuck, Lucille Olsen, Angie Christensen Wagner, Mary Emma Williams Roderick, Nora Price, Son-in-Law D. Evan Crosby and Granddaughter Alexandria Natalia Porter.
Hanna Lou Williams is survived by her beloved sisters June Jones of Dillon, Montana; Darlene Nielson and Barbara (Dennis) Bingham of Malad, Idaho. Her children: Grant L. Williams (Fonnie) of Malad, Idaho; Eunice (Ed) Johnson of The Woodlands, Texas; Louise (Corey) Taylor of Brigham City, Utah; Janice (Kardell) Winward of Malad, Idaho; Dana Crosby of Sandy, Utah; Natalie (Michael) Porter of Antimony, Utah; and Dalan Williams (Cindy) of Tremonton, Utah. As well as 26 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 29 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
