MALAD — On the morning of March 23, Randy was released from his pain from cancer to his Father in Heaven. His loved ones were by his side. He was born in Brigham City, Utah, on July 23, 1950, to William Keith John and Eileen Williams John. He was an active child from birth. He loved to play sports with neighborhood friends and at school. He attended school in Malad and graduated from Malad High School.

After high school, Randy attended college at the University of Idaho where he graduated with a degree in Accounting and Marketing. While at the university, he met Judy Brown and after dating for a few years they were married. To this union, a daughter Sarah Anne was born. This union ended in divorce, but Randy loved taking Sarah with him whenever he visited family in Malad.

After his graduation, Randy went to work for the Idaho State Tax Commission. His work auditing oil companies gave him the opportunity to travel around the country. After a number of years, he left the tax commission and went to work for Morton Thiokol of Utah in their Accounting Department. Though Randy enjoyed his work there, he missed seeing his little girl and returned to Boise and the Tax Commission.

At the age of 32, he was appointed Bureau Chief of Motor Fuels. Randy then met a beautiful young woman, Sherise Thomas. They were married in Cascade, Idaho, in 1984. They made their home in Boise and were blessed with a little girl, Molly. He loved participating in activities with Sherise’s family and spending time with his two daughters. They were married five years.

Randy went to work for Heinz in accounting for a number of years. Unfortunately, their offices were moved to Pittsburgh, Penn. He was given the opportunity to transfer, but he did not want to be so far away from his daughters, so he transferred to the ORE-IDA plant in Ontario, Ore., as their Controller. He worked there for six years, but due to his father’s illness he returned to Malad with daughter, Molly. In the following years, he made his home in Boise and Malad. After his father’s death, he remained in Malad with his mother.

Randy is survived by his daughters, Sarah Gardner and Molly Roper, and granddaughter Ashton Roper, sister Beverly Kunzler, brother Lamonte (Bonnie) John, and mother Eileen John. He is preceded in death by his father, W. Keith John, and grandparents, Llewellyn J. William, Mary Davis Williams, W. E John, and Sarah Mae Williams John.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. in Malad. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening (at the funeral home) from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday prior to service from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
