Rigby Star newspaper - Rigby, ID

Does anyone know when the "Rigby Star" (now "Jefferson Star") newspaper began?

The oldest microfilmed issues that I've been able to find date back to 1906. Meanwhile, I'm trying to find an article that would have been published in October 1904...that is, if the newspaper was even around then.

From what I've found, it seems the newspaper has gone through several name changes: Rigby Star, The Star, Jefferson County Star, Jefferson Star.

And if the Rigby newspaper wasn't around in 1904, does anyone know what would have been the "go to" paper for Jefferson County happenings?

A nice lookup volunteer from another county in Idaho obtained an obit for me, ended up being a gruesome and sad death, and this is part of the text:

"had been killed in the saw mill at Mud Lake, near Hauser Junction"

Now, my question is, does anyone know if this is actually the Mud Lake that is in Jefferson County?? I thought I would cross check the name Hauser Junction, but in my favorite search places, I have not been able to locate any Hauser Junction.

So, was Hauser Junction ever in Jefferson County Idaho??

Thanks, Carol

Hi, my name is Linda (Mullins) Hopper. I am looking for information on Martha Mullins. She was my great Aunt. Martha died in Tulsa Oklahoma April 22,1976. In the 1910 Jefferson county Kentucky census, there is a Martha Mullins listed as a boarder in the family of Emery Graham. I do know that my Mullins were from Kentucky. Martha's parents were John and America Mullins. I can't find them in any census except the 1900 Breathitt county(Crawford) census. In the 1900 census.......there is an Emery listed as thier oldest son.(Martha's big brother) I have not been able to find any information on Emery. I have been told that he died of typhoid fever,I don't know when or where. Could "Graham" be an alias???? The ages are with in three years on Emery and Martha of the ages that I have. The other siblings of Emery and Martha Mullins are Grant(my grandfather),Henry,Lee,John,Clabe, Elijah(Elisha) and Vina(Vinie). They are all buried in Oklahoma. I have America's death certificate showing that she is buried in Oklahoma. I have not been able to get a death certificate on John. I believe he is buried in Oklahoma also. Thank you for any information you can share.
The family was not all together in 1910,I found Grant (my grandfather) listed with the family of Marion Johnson in Pittsburg county Oklahoma, listed as a cousin. I have been unalbe to find any of the other siblings or thier parents in 1910 census.

Linda (Mullins) Hopper
Stanton,Texas

Seeking information on families of Rob Ritchie of Ririe. He married Marie Anderson in 1923 (his second wife) - did they have children? Did they divorce or did she die? His third wife was Katie Cleverly. They married in 1925 and again in 1931 - divorced twice. There was also apparently another woman in his life before, during and after his relationship to Katie - who was she and did he have children with that woman. Rob is my great-grandfather.

Mary McNulty Clapp (1900-1989) m. Leslie Clapp bet. 1920 and 1930, in Idaho. Mary was the daughter of John Joseph McNulty (1859-1929). She may have had a sister, possibly named Eva.

Leslie and Mary McNulty Clapp had at least three children, including one named Clyde.

John Joseph McNulty was born in Rawdon, Quebec, and "went west" to Silver City, Utah in 1880. He was reputedly a sheriff in Silver City "in the eighties". He lived in Rigby as a rancher before his death.

John Joseph McNulty "married a girl in Rigby, [now in Jefferson County], Idaho by the name of McNulty. They had one daughter who wrote occasionally."--according to my Uncle, who saw John when he visited Barre, Vermont, in 1919 or 1920.

I am searching for the wife, and the descendants of John Joseph McNulty, who is my granduncle.

Roberts Cemetery

My 2nd-great grandfather, Samuel Adams, jr. was living in Roberts with a son (George?) and died there in August of 1920. Is there a cemetery in Roberts? If so, where are the records for that cemetery?
Is there anyone on this list who would have any connection to this family or know someone who does? I have very little information on this man and his wife and would like to find any and all information available.
Thanks to anyone who can help with any of my questions.

Aunt Lizzie!

Elizabeth Ellen Blodgett Ludlow Cowell, "Aunt Lizzie" in Idaho, Grandma Cowell in California. b. 5 Sep 1894, Lorenzo, Jefferson Co., Idaho. d. 19 Apr 1977, Mar Vista, Los Angeles Co., California. m. 28 Jun 1916 to George Henry LUDLOW, b. 21 Dec 1883, Salt Lake City, Utah. Had two sons: Harry Raymond Ludlow, b. 26 Feb 1919 and Frank Blodgett Ludlow, b. 16 Nov 1921.

Aunt Lizzie was the second wife of George Ludlow, his first wife was Lizzie Prior. George died on 20 Sep 1923 in Lorenzo, Jefferson Co., Idaho. Lizzie married Alfred Cowell.

Lizzie moved to Los Angeles, California in 1953 to live near her two sons, and grand daughters. She owned and maintained a small apartment complex until her death in 1977.

She has two grand daughters and 4 great grand children. Her grand daughters are: Lynda Ludlow McHugh and Dianna Ludlow Slone.

Aunt Lizzie, as she was known in Idaho, was a very active, loving person. She traveled from Los Angeles to Idaho almost yearly to visit all her families in Rigby, and surrounding areas.

She was a strong willed woman, and was not afraid of hard work. She supported her two sons and herself by working as a practical nurse and caretaker for many families.

She was a strong Mormon, and spent much time working for her Ward in Mar Vista, California. She was an excellent seamstress, and quilter. There are many people that still cuddle up with quilts that she stitched by hand.

She was much loved and respected by both her family, and her many friends. She has been greatly missed by her family and friends, and is always thought of with a smile.

She was a self made woman, who never feared hard work. She was a woman before her time, and was always a strong guiding light to all who loved her.

Respectfully and Lovingly submitted by her grand daughter
Lynda Ludlow McHugh
e-mail LMchughwm2000@hotmail.com

I am looking for decendents and ancestors of my grandfather Thomas C. George. He lived in Rigby at least in the 1940's and ran several business's owned land. He passed away sometime in the early sixties around 1963 to1965. He was married two times first to my grandmother whose maiden
name is Corden. She passed away early in my father's childhood. He remarried my grandmother,Carmen i'm unsure of her maiden name. The information i'm interested in is birth and death records, marriage records.
