Hi Jack,
I don't (yet) know anything about your Taylors other than what you've shown in a couple of Rootsweb forum postings for Hawkins Co TN. But I'm curious about the Rachel B. Page from Scott county VA.
I've been studying the PAGE of Scott county VA in depth because essentially all the PAGE of Scott and most of Wise county apparently descend from Noah Page and Susan Peterson, who married in Caswell county NC in 1820, before they moved their family up to Scott county about 1838. And the DNA of two of my PAGE cousins known to descend from my gr-gr-grandfather Amos Page of 1820-1840 Guilford and Rockingham counties NC match those of a descendent of Noah Page. (Furthermore, all three of those DNA donors match DNA of descendents of the well-researched Exolheath or Axelheath Page of 1600's Goochland county VA.) I do not know any of Amos Page's ancestors, so I am trying to find his connections to the Caswell county PAGE bunch.
So regarding my interest in Rachel -- I cannot find her anywhere in Scott county VA, nor in Noah Page's tree as such -- although it is POSSIBLE (not yet proven) that a Rachel/Rachael was born to Samuel P. PAGE & Louisa LANE, where Samuel was a son of Noah Page's son Nathaniel.
But my only reference to that Rachel being a possible daughter of Samuel, is someone's contribution to Phyllis Louise Peterson's book, "Scott county Virgina Birth Records, 1874-1895" that there was a "Rachael" Page born (about?) 1881 in Scott county VA. There were no parents shown in that particular birth reference. But in an INDEX to her book "Scott county VIRGINIA, CONSENTS & BONDS OF MARRIAGE, BOOK 3, 1894-1912", Ms. Peterson shows that a "Rachel", daughter of "Samuel Page & Louisa", married someone, somewhere. (I haven't yet been able to get back to the library to look at the actual marriage record.) So it is likely the two references are to the same female.
My inability to find Rachel in Scott county, might be because she was born just after the 1880 census, then married young enough to no longer be a "PAGE" by the 1900 census -- and in fact might no longer be in VA by the 1900 Scott Co census. The information you show for your Rachel would fit this theory quite well.
Can you tell me more about your Rachel B. Page? Do you know who her parents were, siblings, or such? Could she be the one Peterson mentions above as having been born to Samuel Page & wife Louisa?
Will be happy to trade info.
