Vega Marie Godfrey
November 16,1927 - January 25, 2018
Vega Marie Godfrey, 90, was born November 16, 1927, in Logan, Utah to E.O. Bergeson and Kenna Smith Bergeson. She was raised in Dayton, ID, along with siblings Ron, Tyra, and Travis. Vega married Max Lee Godfrey on May 22,1945, in Elko, NV and later in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had four children, Linda, Pat, Scott, and Todd. They moved to Bozeman MT and later to Dillon, MT where they lived the next 16 years. In 1972, they moved to Caldwell, ID, residing there until their retirement in 1988. They spent the next 20 years wintering in Apache Junction, Az and spending summers at their cabin in Polaris, MT. Mom said, "those were the best years of her life." Lee passed away in 1996 and mom later moved to Billings, MT. She was an active member of the LDS Church.
Vega will always be remembered for her 'clam chowder' served at the annual Caldwell wrestling tournaments, best bartender at Grasshopper Inn, and her organizational skills, and "social" director for friends and family.
Vega is survived by her children, Linda Larson (Bob), Caldwell, ID, Pat Scott (Gary), Billings, MT, Scott Godfrey (Pam), Billings, MT and Todd Godfrey (Kathy), Boise, ID, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Vega was predeced in death by her husband, Lee, parents, brother, Ron and sister, Tyra.
Cremation has taken place and she will be buried alongside her husband in Weston, ID, at a later date.
