Merek B. Hinckley, 74, passed away on April 23, 2017, following a short illness. Merek was born on Aug. 29, 1942, to Zelda B. and A. Vernon Hinckley. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Stegman, Jennifer Poole, and Jill Stewart; plus several grandchildren; his siblings, Cless Hinckley, Raquel Buehler, Stephen Hinckley, Linda Scott, Arlene Turner, and Leanne Allen and numerous nieces and nephews. His son, Merek Tal Hinckley; and sister, Karen Campbell; preceded him in death. Merek grew up and attended school in the Preston area. He also attended Utah State and received a BA from Boise State. He served in the Army Reserve and National Guard in the 1960's.
Merek lived many years in the Pacific Northwest, particularly Vancouver, Wash., where he made many dear friends.
He will be fondly remembered for his amazing gardens, excellent cooking skills, intelligence, and his sense of humor. In the last few years he came to fully appreciate family.
A graveside service was held on April 29, 2017, at the Fairview, Idaho, Cemetery.
