Bret Jay Bodily, 71, passed away April 10, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a short illness. He was born in Preston, Idaho on February 18, 1941. He was the first child of Asa James and Alta Porter Larsen Bodily. He had two brothers, Bryce (Sue Ann) and N. Kevin (Peggy) Bodily, two sisters, Sharlene Dockstader and Lynette (Allen) Eddington.
He was raised in Fairview, Idaho, where he attended Fairview Elementary School, Preston Jr. High and graduated from Preston High School in 1959 and attended Utah Technical College in carpentry. He served a mission in South Africa. On his return he worked building houses.
In 1965, he married Jeanette Call in the Salt Lake temple. They made their home in Woods Cross where they raised three children, Darren Jay (Ilene) Bodily, Toni Kae (Donald) Adair, and Gregory C. Bodily. He worked as an elevator service technician for 25 years.
He served in many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple for two years.
He loved airplanes and making wooden toys for his grandchildren.He enjoyed working with wood. He achieved his one desire to obtain his pilot's license inspite of limited eye sight.
He is survived by his wife, children, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, N. Kevin Bodily.
There will be a viewing Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. both viewing and services will be held at the Woods Cross 2nd Ward, 790 West 1500 South, Woods Cross, Utah. Prior to the funeral services there be a viewing from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. The internment will be at 4:00 p.m. at the Fairwiew Cemetery.
