Hi--My grandmother's (Mabel Mitchell) sister was Ethel Mitchell, born 188? in Portland, England. Their father was Henry D. Mitchell and mother was Sarah Ann Dennis. I believe Ethel's married name was Givens, and she had a son, Richard. Is this possibly the family you're researching?
