GRACE — Randy Dee Lester, 60, of Grace, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at home. He born was October 19, 1948, at Evanston, Wyo., the son of Orval G. and Clara Druesilla Passey Lester. He was raised and educated in Bancroft, Idaho, graduating from North Gem High School. He had also lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the past 28 years in Grace.
He married Mary Elaine Johnson August 6, 1980, at Pocatello, Idaho.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Caribou County road and bridge. Randy was a member of the Grace LDS First Ward.
He was a member of the Gold Prospecting Association of America, the North American Fishing Club, the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and the Handyman Club of America.
He enjoyed woodworking, was a craftsman, a mechanic, prospecting, fishing, gardening, cooking and herbal remedies.
Randy is survived by his wife, Mary Lester, of Grace; two sons and one daughter, Shane and Leslie Lester, Evanston, Wyo., Randy and Kori Lester, Grace, Idaho, and Heather Lester of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving are six grandchildren; five brothers and five sisters, Grant P. Lester, Soda Springs, Idaho, Darrell Lester, Bancroft, Idaho, Reid Lester, Grace, Idaho, Bill Lester, Bancroft, Idaho, Joe Lester, Bancroft, Idaho, Jeanelle Hayes, Georgetown, Idaho, Joyce Collins, Bancroft, Idaho, Virginia Collins, Grace, Idaho, Terri May Sibbett, Nashville, Tenn., and Mary Bischoff, Downey, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ida Lester.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, at noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Friends may call on Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Saturday at the Grace Stake Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
