Carolyn Johnson Call, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all, died peacefully after several months of illness at her home in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on October 11, 1922, in Arimo, Idaho, the second daughter of Heber Francis and Edna Caroline Johnson.
She grew up in Bancroft, Idaho, and graduated from North Gem High School. While attending Ricks College, she married her high school sweetheart, Lowell Eliason Call, in the Logan LDS Temple.
A dedicated Air Force wife, Carolyn traveled throughout the world while making a comfortable home for and raising her family of eight children. In addition, her home was a safe and friendly haven for many friends, family, and strangers who needed a place to sleep, food to eat, or ear to bend.
Carolyn served actively in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. An accomplished pianist, she was often called upon to bless others with her music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Heber and Edna Johnson. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Gwen Raymond, of McCammon, Idaho; her husband, Lowell Eliason Call; her eight children, 26 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Children include: Janene and William Everitt of Wellsville, Utah; Scott and Victoria Call of Centerville, Utah; Marlae and Michael Rindlisbacher of Orem, Utah; Clair and Sandy Call of Orem, Utah; Mont Call of Orem, Utah; Val and Carrie Call of Sandy, Utah; Jacqulyn Olsen of Orem, Utah; and Lori C. Waters of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Canyon View LDS Chapel, 1090 North 400 East, Orem, Utah. Friends may call on Monday evening, June 28, 2004, from 6-8 p.m., at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. A family viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
