I bought a large photo of a Naval class taken at the U. S. Naval Training Center in Farragut, ID. The sailors are holding three flags: Camp Ward Boats, Camp Ward Drill, and Camp Ward Bag-Bunk. Two officers appear in the front row. I don't have family ties to this picture, but I would think it would be valuable to a family researcher or historical researcher. Please contact Kathy@craftsbykathy.com if you have an interest in this photo.
Bennett Daughter

Seeking information on daughter born to Elmer William Bennett and his wife Mary Jane Dean. She was born August 1912 in the City Hospital, Sandpoint?, ID. The only proof I have of her existance is from the Northern Idaho News, 8 August 1912, stating that "mother and child are getting along nicely." Her three older sisters lived next door to one another in Spokane, WA, and we always thought that Ruth was the youngest until the newspaper notice. I have been unable to come up with any further documentation as to her existance and my grandmother and great-aunts never spoke of a fourth child. Can anyone help me with this?

Searching for information on a John M. Clark who died on 29 Sep 1943 in Priest River Idaho. Idaho records indicate he was born 21 Mar 1871 in Wisconsin. Anyone willing to do an obituary search or burial record? This is possibly my Great Grandfather, who left Wisconsin about 1910. Any facts on him would be greatly appreciated. Particularly the cemetery where we could locate his grave. Our family has been searching for him since 1930's in both Montana and now Idaho. We do know he had cousins living in Sand Point area during the 1940's but relatives still alive would have been fairly young durning that era and have no recollection of meeting him.

I am looking for information on two brothers, Frank Joseph LEIICK and Peter John LEIICK. The surname is is German, they moved to Idaho around 1900? They both farmed in or around Bonner County. Peter died in Feb 1924, his brother Frank died in Aug 1943. Both are buried in Westmond Cemetery. I am trying to gather information on these brothers. I have obtained their death certificates, both died as results from farming accidents. They both were listed as being single at the time of their deaths. I have to assume they may never have been married. Peter was the informant for his brother Peter, Franks informant was a Susan Dahlberg of Westmond, ID. I would like to obtain an Obit on these men if possible from an old newspaper. Any help would be greatly appriecated.

The Rev. Willholland Williams officiated at the services which concluded with interment in Pinecrest cemetery.

Mr. VanCurler died Friday afternoon. He had been in failing health for the past two years.

Born in Michigan, Aug. 25, 1863, Mr. VanCurler came to Sandpoint 50 years ago. At the time of its construction the Humbird mill was the largest of its kind in the world.

Always active, Mr. VanCurler worked at his trade well past the usual age of retirement. Last summer he astounded neighbors by shingling the steep roof of his two story home unassisted.

Survivors include one son, Charles Delevan VanCurler, Bell Gardens, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Violet Sisson, Wallace, 12 grandchildren including Blaine Sisson who made his home here with his grandfather; and eight great grandchildren.
As a young teen, I corresponded with a boy named Tom Piatt...he was from Idaho.
I checked the Soc. Sec. Death Index and found a Tom Piatt...who died in the 1970's....does anyone out there know of him?
While going thru some old postcards, I found some he had sent me...I am now in my mid-sixties. When I showed the postcards to my husband, we thought it would be be interesting to see if I could make contact again after all these years.
Marilyn Butler Craig
During the 1880 and through 1897, the following Piatt's were married in Dunn
Co., Wisconsin: Margaret E. in 1888, Alexander S. in 1888, Martin L. in 1890
and Abram in 1897. I am searching for any descendants of this family. Other
siblings were George, Julia A., David, Narcissuss and Elizabeth. Their
parents were William and Anne Piatt. I am working on the parentage of Ann
Truax Piatt and would like to find some descendant who has information on her
background. Any help would be much appreciated.

I see now that the Wisconsin site now only lists the name of the person you
asked for in marriage and won't tell me who they married. What a shame.
Martin and his wife Emma, or at least Martin, died in Bonner Co., Idaho.

Thanks, Jerilyn

news clip

STOCKDALE Burned By 2400 Volt Line
Richard Stockdale, a lineman for the Pacific Power and Light company at Sandpoint, is in the Deaconess hospital in Spokane, this week recovering from burns he received Friday afternoon when he came into contact with a 2400-volt power line.
A. T. Peterson, PP&L, district manager, said the accident happened in the Oden bay area where the company is running a power line to the Jack Murray property.
Stockdale received severe burns on his left arm and foot and suffered a broken bone in his upper right arm, the company said.
Bob Buhr, who was working on the power pole with Stockdale at the time, was credited by Peterson with saving the lineman's life. The PP&L manager said Buhr knocked Stockdale loose from the high voltage line and assisted him to the ground. Stockdale was able to come down the pole under his own power, but went into shock as soon as he was on the ground, Peterson said.
While waiting for a sheriff's ambulance to rush him to Bonner General hospital, Buhr applied first aid.

Notes Louise: as most clips they are not all right. His born given name is Dick. Bob Buhr, knocked Dick off the line with a wrench, if he would have touch him he would have fried also. The shoulder was not broken, it was blown up with the volts. The volts went in his right blew up his shoulder across his heart, blew out the bottom of his left foot. I do remember when this happen

Was wondering if anyone had any info on Eli Mack, son of Erastus Mack of Loyal WI.Eli was born in Canada about 1858 and is known to have lived in Sandpoint around September of 1913. I am not sure if there is any connection with the "Clara Mack" that I've seen here. I know he had married Frances Luella Hill b.7/11/1862 and had 3 sons, John,William and Earl. I believe that Eli and Luella divorced. John and William had children themselves by 1918. Any info would be really helpfull! Thanks-Scott Weinzatl@Charter.net

south lappish relatives in Kootenai

Inger Lund (girlname: Eliassen) was the sister of my grand grandfather. The parents was reindeerherders in the southlappish area in the middle part of Norway. Inger was born 7 oct 1862 in city Namsos in Nord Trondelag county Norway. She died 20 (17) march 1959 in Courr D Alene Kootenai, Idaho. She married Chris (Christian) Lund from Fredrikstad Norway 28 nov 1890 Hudson, Saint Croix, Wisconsin. They had children: 1. Arthur Lund born 1892 Bayport Minnesota. Mybe burried at Pinecrest Cemetery at Sandpoint Bonner Idaho where also his parents are burried. 2. Ellen Sofia Lund born 25 aug 1894 Bayport Minnesota - died 15 jan 1949 Where?. 3. Ida Clarencia Lund born 3 feb 1902 Bayport Minnesota - died 6 aug 1953 Where?. Inger and Chris: possibel son named Herbert W., a girl named Jonetta and at least a girl named Myron. I search after the history to this family. Was some of the children married? Possible: Herbert. Is there a possibility that there are descendants still living in Bonner County? I new very little of this family who emigrated to USA . I know that Inger emigrated from Norway in aug 1889. I had heard that Inger or it was another sister named Marie (Marit)who also emigrated to USA become to be famous as singers over there. Well I had search some sites and found most of that above.
