Hi,

OK...this is a really weird request, but I'm going on the maxim it never hurts to ask...

I am researching my husband's Tully ancestors who came fr Ireland to Canada to Chicago in the 1800s, where I'm stuck at a brick wall. However, I know from old family notes that one branch of the family was never able to come over from Canada into the US, and instead settled in Winnipeg. One descendant of that branch married someone by surname RYAN, and my husband's great uncle still remembered that cousin enough to give me just some info...but then he passed away, and the link is lost now.

Well, I recently found out from another cousin that that couple had a son named Tim RYAN, and I was told he is a sportscaster for tennis matches. I googled him (I'm not into sports myself, so knew nothing) and sure enough, there is a Tim Ryan who is a sports announcer, who was b Canada.

Reason I'm writing to this board: I found out by googling him that he and his wife (Patricia) live in Sun Valley, or at least lived there in 2005. I'm hoping that if I send him a letter, hopefully, this is the same Tim Ryan of my family's connection, and that he will remember at least something of his grandparents names and dates, which will help me track a correlary line in my Tully and Ryan lines and maybe bypass that ol' brick wall.
