I'm looking for anyone who might have a James M. Brock taxed on Silver Creek in Nov 1886. He was taxed for 160 acres, 2 horses, a cow, and 1 vehicle.

Also looking for anyone with a James Brock and his wife, Mrs. James Brock, listed as indigent paupers and receiving $40 each from Alturas County in Dec 1888. On the application for aid for "Mrs. James Brock" it says she "is indigent and suffering from paralysis and in destitute circumstances"...

I'm trying to figure out if the above James M. Brock is the father to Eliza Jane Brock, resident of Spring Creek Precinct at the time of her marriage to Edward Day in Blaine, Alturas Co., ID in Dec 1885. I know Eliza's brother, Thomas Brock and wife Rosa came west from Benton Co., AR in 1883 in covered wagons, and went to Walla Walla, WA. I assume that's how Eliza got to ID, as well. I was not aware his parents, James M. Brock and Elizabeth, were with them. For some unexplained reason (so far) Eliza Jane (Brock) Day went back to Siloam Springs, Benton Co., AR and gave birth to a daughter there in Dec 1888 (according to marriage records), and then is back in Washington state by 1900. I "assumed" it was something to do with her mother, Elizabeth Brock, but now I'm even more confused. Elizabeth apparently died before 1894, as James M. Brock is remarried and has a child with his new wife in St. Francois Co., MO,in the 1900 census.

Obviously more research is required on this to sort this all out, but I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone else was familiar with the above.

Thanks for any input.
