Jene Hubert Jacobson passed away on August 4, 2018. He was born on January 5, 1925 to James Hubert Jacobson and Mamie June Jarvis in Bloomington, Idaho. He married his sweetheart Elvira Sherwood on April 27, 1946 and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on June 18, 1959. They were married for 72 years.
He served in the Field Artillery in the European Theatre during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Jene retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years.
Jene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions. He and his wife served an inner city Ogden Mission and as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for several years.
Jene is survived by his wife, children, Jene Ann (Bobby) Wilson, Brent (Trish) Jacobson, Marilyn Jacobson, and Michael Jacobson; 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gayle Scadden and Arleene Warner. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jarvis Jay; grandson, Tim Palmer, JR; brothers, Nard and Dean Jacobson; and sisters, Leona Durant and Joyce Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
