Grace E. Morris Wuthrich was our wonderful grandma, and we will miss her dearly. She always remembered our birthdays and holidays, and told us many fun stories of her childhood, but mostly she just loved us. Grace was born on July 31, 1935 to Jess Morris and Gladys McCarty Morris in Elk Mountain, Wyoming. She was reared in childhood there and later in Cokeville. Grace was a very good student, getting an excellent rating in citizenship and above average grades. She could type 60 words per minute and had a beautiful singing voice, but timid about using it. Grace was a member of the Glee and Pep Clubs and appeared in Junior and Senior class plays. She loved animals, especially dogs. She always loved a good book. As an adult Grace moved to Montpelier where she worked, among other places, at the U.S. Post Office for many years. She married the late Donald John Wuthrich on December 11, 1996. She was a good wife and companion until Donald’s death in 1998. She remained in their Montpelier home. She had many friends, neighbors, ward members and Bishopric to help her along. Grace passed away in her home on July 26, 2017 of natural causes at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Henry H. Morris and Floyed J. Morris. Surviving kin are her step-son and daughter-in-law, Steven A. and Stephany Wuthrich, Salt Lake City, and four grandchildren, Cinnamon Jensen, Houston, Abbey Hepner, Colorado Springs, Sean Wuthrich, Montpelier, and Krisann Wuthrich, Pocatello.
A viewing will be held in Grace’s honor on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Schwab-Matthews Mortuary from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a brief memorial at the Mortuary. All are welcome and we hope to see you there. Thereafter, a graveside service will be held at the Cokeville Cemetery where she will be interred.
