MONTPELIER, Idaho — JACK WAYNE COCHRAN, 91, died on March 1, 2012, at his home in Montpelier. He was born on January 2, 1921, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harley Victor Cochran and Doris Fern Wadsworth.
The family lived on a ranch in Pegram.
Jack married Cleone Rigby on September 20, 1946, in the Salt Lake City Temple. He was a talented horseman and rancher. He enjoyed living in Pegram and raising his family there. Years of hard work with his brothers Dwight and his son Wayne, produced a quality Angus herd, and a well run ranch that was eventually sold. Jack and Cleone moved to Montpelier in 1988.
Jack served faithfully in callings in the Pegram Branch and the Montpelier 1st & 4th Wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jack also served on the Bear Lake Fair Board.
Jack is survived by his wife Cleone, children Vicki (Sid) Smith, Wayne (Linda) Cochran, Nancy (Rex) Skinner, brother Dwight Cochran, sister Joyce Rigby, 16 grandchildren, 42 greatgrandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Bruce.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Montpelier 4th Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call prior to services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at Matthews Mortuary. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
