I'm stuck. I'm trying to find any information on the parents of John Peter Devenberg born in NY. I know his father was Francis Devenberg born abt 1812 and his mother Mary Bates born abt 1816. A census from 1910 said his parents were both born in France, but a family member thought it might be NY, USA. If you have any information, I'd really appreciate any help.

I looked at the Censuses and one said John Peter's parents were born in France and another one said they were born in Germany.

I think you need to find John Peter's death cert in Auburn, Wyoming. He died in Feb 1919. Then use info on that to find his birth cert Nov. 1838, NY. Successful Searching!
