POCATELLO — Wayne G. Hess, 52, Pocatello, died Monday evening, July 14, 2008, at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born October 9, 1955, at Montpelier, Idaho, to Farris M. and Lenna Hess. He married Kristie Bosch in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1975, and was later divorced.
He attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He had worked at Henderson Funeral Home in Pocatello and later owned and operated a funeral home in Bainbridge Island, Washington.
He loved his children and grandchildren. Wayne was an accomplished organist. He enjoyed snow skiing and working on his house and yard.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served recently as organist.
Wayne is survived by a son, Noah of Pocatello; two daughters, Heather Hess of Pocatello, and Tiffany Byrd of Covington, Washington; two grandsons, Aaron and Beau Byrd; and a sister, Margene Hudson of Blackfoot. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chubbuck Stake Center, corner of Chubbuck Road and Whitaker Road, Chubbuck. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening in the Cornelison-Henderson Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, and one hour prior to services Saturday in the church. Interment will be in the Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Idaho.
