Hi,

I am looking for a marriage record for a marriage that took place in the Pocatello, ID area in the late 1950s/early 1960s. I don't have the bride's name or the marriage date, but I do have the groom's name. Are there any searches available to help me locate this record? I checked with the State of Idaho and marriage records are sealed until 50 years have passed.

Thank you,

Marriage record problem?

According to the Western States Marriage Index, Minnie (Crouse) Ronholt married Alexander Norman Wailes in Bannock County on 10Jun1922 (Marriage book Vol 11, page 24).

But that is the same year that she married George Rasmussen, my great uncle. I do not have a record of that date, but computed it from the census. And Alexander Wailes was much younger than Minnie.

Is there an error in the marriage index? If someone has occasion to go to the Bannock County courthouse, I would really appreciate a verification of the marriage record.

Hello once again!

This time I´m looking for information about Horace and Marie
Hill in Pocatello, Idaho.

I know this much so far:
Horace Hill was born May 9, 1910 and died June 15, 1988.
Marie Engeborg (Christenson) was born May 5, 1913 in
Pocatello Idaho and died September (7), 1982.

They are both burried at the Mountainview Cementary,
Pocatello Idaho (according to the list with names on the cemetery webpage).

I know they had at least one child - Martin Charles Hill,
born Mars 25, 1944 in Pocatello Idaho, died September 9,
1945 and he as well is buried at the Mountainview Cemetery
according to the list.

I don´t know anything about Horace parents or when Horace
and Marie got married? Another thing I´m curious about is
if they had any other children than Martin Charles?

Is there anyone who might know something that can help me
with my research?

Thank you!
Anna in Sweden
I´m looking for information about the Christenson/Christensen family, or relatives to them.

Martin, born 26 July 1871, emigrated from Sweden (don´t know what year) to the U.S. He lived in Pocatello Idaho in 1936 with his wife Marie Alette (maiden name Olsen I believe), born 11 April 1874 in Norway, and their daughter Engeborg Marie Greta, born 5 May 1913 in Pocatello. I know that Martin died in 1948, but I don´t have any information about when Marie Alette died or any information about Engeborg Marie Greta more than when she was born.

Anyone who could help me? I´m grateful for any information I can get. :-)

Does anyone happen to know where I can find this book? It is supposed to have a biography of my great grandfather Arthur Earl Hook, who owned a candy store in town. I think the store was called the Candy Kitchen. The time frame would of been around the 1915 to 1930s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Tammy

Lois Peterson, wife of Lt. William L. Peterson, MIA of WWII

Lt. Peterson was the bombadier on my uncle's B-17 and they were lost on a mission to Rennes, France on May 29, 1943. In July I was contacted by a man in France who researches WWII crash sites and discovered that my uncle's plane had crashed near the little village of Clayes. Last May, a memorial monument was unveiled in Clayes honoring the men who were lost on that plane. My family was grateful to finally know what happened and that the French were remembering them. We have located a family member of all crew members except for Lt. Peterson. We believe he may have met and married Lois (last name unknown) while he was stationed at Pocatello. She was living in Portland, OR, at the time he was listed as missing and a baby daughter was born after he was killed. The navigator, Lt. Martin (a POW) was in contact with Lois and the baby until the little girl was about 7 or 8 years old after which letters and gifts were returned as "undeliverable." Mrs. Peterson may have remarried or moved away. It would be wonderful if someone could do a lookup of marriage records in Pocatello for Lt. William Peterson and Lois in 1942-43 so I would have her last name. If you can help, or give me some ideas, I would be most appreciative. Thanks.

I found Larry Sloan Davis in the WW I Draft Reg. Cards. He was born Nov 30, 1896 in San Antonio, TX. He was living in Payson UT on June 5, 1918 when he filled out the card. He was married but his wife was listed as Mrs. Larry Sloan Davis. He was employed by the SL. and Utah Railroad.

Larry L. Davis md. Leona Rouse in Farmington, Davis Co. UT on 6 June 1916.

At the 1920 census the family was living in Sterling, Bingham Co. ID and had a dau named Iris age 2/12's.

At the 1930 census, the family was living in Pocatello, Bannock Co. ID. Iris was 13 by then and they had a second dau. Betty Jo, age 6.

Need info on this family. Is the Larry S. Daivs who was md.to Leona Rouse the same as Larry Sloan Davis of the Draft Reg. Card? What happened to his parents and two sisters, Vera and Agnes Davis??

I have Larry and his sisters living with his parents, John B. and Alice Davis in Bexar Co. TX at the 1900 census, but lose track of the whole family after that until he registers with the draft in 1918.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joanne

If anyone could find the obituaries for them, I would be very grateful (or point me in the right direction!)
Carl Henry George d. 3 Apr 1919
Henrietta George d. 14 Apr 1919
Emma "Minnie" Green? d.11 Jan 1969
Lillie Meitzenheimer? d.4 Aug 1956
Amelia Bowers? d. 15 Jan 1929

It also appears that most of them were buried in a Mt. View cemetery there. Does anyone know of any online listings for that cemetery?

Can anyone tell me the name of an orphanage in Pocatello in operation about 1914 or 1915. A family of four boys was removed from a hotel in Jerome. The two older boys were in a "separate" part of the orphanage from the younger boys. There was some connection with a church which baptized in a near-by river. Any information about such an institution would be very helpful.
