Thanks for the California Death Index information. That is my Great Grandfather, August Tavares Pereira. I'm not sure if any of our family ever located in Massachusetts, but it is possible, as my Manuel Pereira was suppose to have come through Providence, Rhode Island and ended up in Hilo, Hawaii. Perhaps there is a connection. I will check that out. Again, thank you for the help.
