My great grandparents, Friedrich(1855-1934)LaBenz and Wilhelmina(maiden name: Witt? or Renke?,1864-1921)LaBenz and Jose(1850-1919)and Innocencia(Perreira, 1850-1910) DaCosta Pimental came to Kauai, HI from Germany (Pommern) and the Azores, respectively, the DaCostas probably in 1887. The daCosta's daughter, Isabella(1895-1978) and Amelia (Emily) married LaBenz brothers (Albert and Willie) and are therefore doubly related. Their sister, Anna, was born at sea on the trip over.
I have reached a dead end at the water's edge and would appreciate any information you may have on either of these families. The elder LaBenz graves are at the Lihue Lutheran Church on Kauai.
