Surnames: KELIIWAIHOIKEONE, KAMAKEEAINA, NAKAHILI
Aloha e:

In researching my ohana's genealogy, I came upong five individuals witht he surname of KELIIWAIHOIKEONE. One of these individuals is my fourth great-grandfather (great-great-great-great-grandfather) with the first name of KAMAKEEAINA which is now our family surname.

Previously I could not find any information on him as his last name was spelled incorrectly and was listed as KELIIWEHOIKEONE; which now I have corrected.

This ohana was from the Big Island and the children were born in the Hamakua District, specifically in Kealakaha.

Individuals in the family are as follows:

Father: KELIIWAIHOIKEONE
Mother: KAUMUKUMU (or KAUMU-KUMU or Kaumukumu/Kaumu-kumu KELIIWAIHOIKEONE)
Children: (female) Honolulu KELIIWAIHOIKEONE b. 1820, d. 1868, m. (male) NAKAHILI), (female) Kalau KELIIWAIHOIKEONE b. 1819, d. unknown, no record of marriage, (male) Kamakeeaina KELIIWAIHOIKEONE b. 1825, d. unknown, m. Kailikalakala (HILIPALAHA).

If ayone has informaiton or resources where I can find information, I would greatley appreciate the assistanct.

My fourth great-grandfather is the first mentioning I can find of our currently family surname of KAMEKEEAINA. Even though I have found the origin of the name, I want to learn more about his ohana and see much further I can take the line. Currently I have nine generations accounted for.

Mahalo,

Kawika Kolomona Kamakeeaina
