Hi,

Researching my g grandparents history.
Jose De Abrue (changed his name to John Silva) and Maria Pereira married in Pi'ihonua, Hilo, Hawaii in 1885. The marriage certificate says Jose Abrea married Maria Pereira.
Well Jose changed his name when he started having children. He became John Silva and had Manuel, John, Virginia, Sarah, Abel, Alfred, and Daniel. They were all born in Hilo, Hawaii but later moved away.
Any help researching what happened to the family would greatly be appreciated.

John Silva died in 1934 and is bureid at Homelani Cemetary in Hilo, Hawaii. Maria died in 1964 and is buried near by.

Hi. Was just goofing around on the computer and typed in the name Sarah Abrue (who is my great-grandma). I found this listing. Not sure we're talking about the same people, but I called my mom (it's her side of the family) and she said Abrue, Perreira(sp) and Silva are all family names. My G.Gma Abrue lived in Maui Hawaii, and has a daughter by the name of Violet Averio, who is my mom's mom, and is alive and well in Maui still. Sarah was married to Joe Abrue. Her maiden name was Sarah Perraira(sp). If this seems like it might help, feel free to e-mail me, and I can give you phone #'s and names of people who might be able to help.

I had an aunt Maria Pereira who came from Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal in 1881 on the Bark Suffolk. The family ended up in Hilo, Honolulu and them many came to San Francisco, CA. Please contact if we might be related. When the family came from Azores, I can't find anything!
