I am researching the Shurney family. This is an African American family that lived in Cochran, Georgia, Dublin, Georgia, and Macon, Georgia. I have traced it back to Joe Shurney of Dublin, Georgia, and Vine Shurney Sr. also of Dublin, Georgia. Vine Sr. first wife's name was Parmilie O'Neal who he married on December 10, 1910 in Pulaski,County, Georgia. She had two boys for him. Vine Shurney Jr., and James L. Shurney. Vine Shurney Sr. Later remarried and was living in Dublin, Georgia in 1920 married to a lady by the name of Nina. Vine Sr passed away there in the VA Hospital in 1977 at the age of 84. These people are my family. If anyone know anything about what happened to Parmilie, Vine Jr. Mother, please contact me. The last that I know of her , she was living in Macon, Georgia in 1936, living at 338 Dempsey Avenue useing the name Pummie Lee Odom. I would appreciate any information that anyone can give me on the above family.
