I am researching my fathers side of my family tree. Most of the info has been hushed, and those who have info can't be found. I am looking for relatives, ancestors of Roy L Whitehead (father Cleveland, mother Penny) and Mazarine Joyner. Both Roy and Mazarine (my grandparents) moved to and died New York City.

I have been able to locate census records for Cleveland whitehead and children (2 boys & 2 girls in 1930), but nothing before that. I've been able to find no record of birth for Cleveland or Mazarine.

My mission is to trace my family as far back as I can and I already have 6 generations back for my mothers side. Can anyone offer any help, insights, name/dates?
