Just read an old post of yours and saw that your family names included STATHAM. My husbands ggg-grandfather was Edward Statham and I found an "Edward Statom" listed in the househould of William D. Calhoun on the 1870 Census from Van Wert District, Polk County. He is listed as a "farm laborer" so it appears he worked for William. Just was curious about any other Statham - Calhoun connection. You may have information since you have knowledge of both families.
