I'm looking for info on William Johnson m. Martha in Wilkes Co., Ga. They sold land in 1790 and 1800 in Wilkes Co.,Ga. The deed book says they were oriinally from Greene Co., Ga. I was thinking that maybe they were the parents of my Col. William Johnson. I saw a William Johnson married to Martha Welborn in Greene Co. Ga. Some of the Welborn family lived in Wilkes Co., Ga. as well, and Thomas Welborn was who they sold land to. William was granted this land in 12/19/1798. Land on Clarks Fork of Long Creek. My Col. William Johnson also had land on Clarks Fork of Long Creek as was stated in his Will. Any info on William Married to Martha (Welborn)? There is a tombstone for a William Johnson Capt. 1 BN Minute Men Rev. War 1741-1818. Some peolpe think this is Col. William Johnson's but could it be William Johnson m. to Martha? Please feel free to e-mail me @ cwcritters@sbcglobal.net

Thank you,
