Would anyone know if there was a New Hope Church or New Hope Baptist Church in Wilkes co Ga in 1790? My ancestor George Ray joined the Powelton Baptist Church in 1791 in what was then Greene co Ga but became Hancock co Ga. The church records say he transferred from an arm of the New Hope Church but I can not find a record of the New Hope Church. Thanks
