When I reviewed the 1850 Census Record for Sherrod Sheffield Akins I see an Elizabeth A age 16 born about 1834. The 1860 Census Record has a Mary E age 9 born about 1851. I have seen some trees that include Elizabeth A and others that do not. Sometimes I get then sense that Elizabeth A and Mary E have been confused e.g. seen listed with the same husband (William Newsom). I have even seen a few trees that have a Matilda Akins (married Nathan Gardner) e.g. Folks Huxford has an Elizabeth A and Matilda but no Mary E. Does anyone have information to clear up this confusion?
