Looking at a website tonight with photos of tombstones from Ritch cemetery taken in 2007. The photographer stated that he wasn't sure if he got all the stones or not because the cemetery was so overgrown, tree limbs fallen onto stones and just really needs to be cleaned up. There was a list that was very short and had none of my Lees buried there. I do not live in Georgia and can't get there to clean it up. Is there anyone with family buried there that can see if there's a way to start an association so we can maintain it before it's lost?

Where is this cemetery located ? I've been to Ritch Baptist Church Cem but it was not overgrown, etc. Not sure if I was in Appling or Wayne. Planning to be down that way before long and might be able to check for you. Jim

In Wayne Co., GA. I am not at home at the moment and can't access my data with the name of the website where I found the info that the cemetery was so overgrown. If you will be in the area and it's not too much trouble, could you check and see if it is in disrepair so we can contact relatives there to do some to get it cleaned up? Thanks so much for replying.

The "Old Ritch Cemetery" is located about a mile north of Thornton's store in K'ville on the Odom Highway. As you travel northward it is on the right of the road. I haven't been by there in many years so I have no idea what condition it is in. Sounds like a good Eagle Scout project if there are many scouts in the area.

Thanks Otis for directions and idea. I'll snail mail some Wayne Co., family and see what is going on, maybe we can do as you say and get some young people involved.
