1870 and 1880 Census records show Delia in Warren County and in 1880 moving to South Carolina. Does anyone have any information on George Williams and what happened to them?
Second part of the question: I have looked every way I can at this. (The 1870 Census "Jewell's Mills, Warren Co., GA)
If the N was a W
and the E was an L,
It would make sense.
Wolff....not Noeff
Since a census taker spells according to what they hear...it is very possible that it is indeed George A. Wolfe's family originally from Wilkes County Georgia, not long after he returned home after injury from the Civil War.
Especially when you look at the mortality index of that year for Warren County and see George Wolfe dying of diarrhea.
There were Williams living next door in Jewell, but no George William listed by name. (Could have been a middle name?)
So any ideas as to where would George Wolfe would be buried if he lived in Jewell? And what happened to George and Delia Williams?)
