I am still hopeful someone has information that will help me in my search for information on my grandmother, Mary Malissa arshall Lee.

Mary Malissa Marshall, b. Oct. 1879 or Nov. 1880 Georgia, and died June 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida. She married Isham M. Lee Dec. 24, 1894 in Ware County, Ga.

Family stories say that when Mary was 12 she was in a home of some sort, maybe an orphanage and that Isham "stole" her from it. She is also believed to be half Indian. Other family lived nearby in the swamps of Okefenokee, Ga.

Some stories say she was adopted in Ware County. Others say she may have been born in Appling, Cobb or Ware County. It is also reported that she lived with a Yates family.
Reports also state that her mother was an unmaried Marshall and her grandfather may have been a minister.
