Rufus was a distant cousin of mine, through Elizabeth Hart of South Carolina and Marion County, GA (1797-1875) (Elizabeth Hart - Martha Hart Watson - Mary Elizabeth Watson Layfield - Rufus Layfield. )

My lineage: Elizabeth Hart - William H. Hart - John Wesley Hart - William Whitfield Hart - Me.

Always intrested in hearing from anyone in these lines.
