This bride & groom are of the same surname, but they are not related. I believe Mr. W. O. Farmer is William Oscar Farmer from my own Farmer family history. I'd like to know more about the bride Mary & her Farmer family. Is anyone looking for her?

Their marriage was listed in "The Conyers Weekly Banner Newspaper," November 21, 1902, & found in the Rockdale County GA Archives. Mary's parents were listed as Mr. & Mrs. R. F. Farmer. It was also noted that these two were from two of the best families of the county.

there was two William O Farmers on the 1900 Rockdale Cty Census one son of James M and Rebcar M Farmer, William born June 1888. The other was born Nov 1871 son of John C and Mary E Farmer. One family tree at Ancesty.Com traces William Oscar back to James M and Martha Rebecca Farmer.

Thanks Bernice! You've found pretty much the same as I did. What really helped was a distant cousin (lives in GA) recently went to several cemeteries in Rockdale County, including the Eastview Cemetery and photographed the gravestones of William O. & Mary Farmer. Turns out that this William O. Farmer was 'not' from my Farmer family. Mine is buried in the Smyrna Presbyterian Campground Cemetery in Conyers, and he does not have a wife buried beside him. Mystery finally solved.
