Have you tried the Augusta Chronicle archives online? It will be hard to search for a name like Pounds though as the word pounds will come up also. I would be glad to help you if I knew a little more about what you have and what you are looking for. I see Herman was married and working at a cotton mill as a doffer in 1940.
