Mrs. J. L. Aldridge, Of
Pike County, Is Paid Final Tribute

Ga., Sept 21.-- Mrs. Mettie
Means Aldridge, 82, one of
Pike County's best-known residents, died Tuesday evening at the home of her son-in-law,
Judge J. L. Milner, in Zebulon.
Mrs. Aldridge was the widow of the late Mr. James L. Aldridge, a prominent planter of Meansville, who died several years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. John
Means, a pioneer of
Pike County and founder of Meansville. She was the sister of
Judge J. W. Means, who held several places of honor and trust in the county.
Surviving her are three sons, J. C. and R. A. Aldridge, of Atlanta, and
Luther Aldridge, of Texas; four daughters, Mrs. James
Fincher, of Atlanta; Mrs. R. L. Barrett and Mrs. R. R. Carter, of Meansville, and Mrs. J. L. Milner, of Zebulon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from Fincher's Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. G. C. Burtz. Burial was in the family lot there.

Baptist?) Cemetery, on the right past Meansville going east (toward Barnesville) on S.R. 109.]
