Hi, Roy.

I searched ancestry.com, and the following is all I could find other than the Georgia Death Index record. I hope it helps.

Florida State Census, 1867-1945 at ancestry.com
Name: Maude D Sanchez
Age: 40
Gender: Female
Race: White
Birth Place: Georgia
Est. Birth Year: abt 1895
Relationship to Head: Wife
Spouse Name: Wm G
Census Year: 1935
Locality: Precinct 62
County: Dade
Page: 6
Line: 12
Archive Series #: S5, Roll 6
Household Members:
Wm G Sanchez 47
Maude D Sanchez 40
Clarie Sanchez 18
Anna L. Sanchez 16

You might also try getting in touch with the Albany Herald to see if they provide lookup service:
Albany Herald
albanyherald.com
Publisher: Mike Gebhart
P.O. Box 48
Albany, Ga. 31702-0048
Phone: (229) 888-9300
Email: mike.gebhart@albanyherald.com

Or perhaps the reference department at the Dougherty County Public Library has back issues of the newspaper on microfilm and would do lookups:
http://www.docolib.org/
229.420.3200

Hope you find what you need.

Coming to this section more than 40 years
ago, Mr. Doyal became a police officer at Griffin, serving on the police
department there for several years before moving to Paulding county near Villa
Rica, to take up farming.

Later Mr. Doyal opened a store in Paulding county and was widely known in that
section as a merchant. He was active as a merchant until 80 years old,
retiring and coming to Atlanta about three years ago. Up until six months ago
the aged Confederate veteran and retired merchant took an active interest in
the affairs of the world. He was an ardent admirer of the Constitution,
subscribing to the paper when it was first issued and following the news
through its sheets daily for 60 years. Until his recent illness he was lively
and genial, and a devotee of fiddling and dancing.

Funeral services of the octogenarian will be attended by three lodges of the
Masonic order. Mr. Doyal belonged to the fraternal organization for 45 years,
holding many prominent offices in that time.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by four sons, W.E., G.F., L.J.
Hi all. Was just looking thru old post and saw a post by me that had Bird Womack as son of Thomas Womack and Sarah Owens. I was a "newbie" then and anxious to help but that information is wrong. I have since learned the value of documentation rather than assuming everything I see on the internet is correct.

Bird Womack, father of the Paulding County Thomas J. Womack and Esther Goss, was the son of Josiah Womack and Keziah Wilkinson. If I can help anyone with clarification, please advise and would be happy to.
Don

My 5th cousin was William Paulding, Mayor of New York City in the 1700's and who built what is now known as Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, NY. My father was born in 1899, I think his father was born in 1870 but I am not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, Stan! I think we may have contacted each other some years ago. My dad's great-grandfather was Robert Cleland Griggs (1833 - 1921), brother to Archibald Porter Griggs.

Robert fought in the Civil War, in 41st GA Inf., Co. B, from 1862 - 1865.

Every once in while I hop onto the Message Boards and see if I can find something new...I didn't know there was a book about the Griggs Family!

I am also a Griggs descendant, but my family remained in Cobb. My GG Grandfather was Archibald Alexander Griggs (1841-1921), son of Alexander Porter Griggs (1812-1902). Archibald Porter is the son of Hugh Griggs (1793; NC - 1875; Cobb Co, GA).

Without question, some cousins are found in Paulding, so I'm wondering if we have a connection.

Stan Bevers

I too am interested in William Y. and Sarah Moore. I believe he is a brother to my Zachariah Moore of Walton County, GA. I believe their father is Robert Moore and Nancy Young Moore of Greene County. They have a sister, Nancy Moore who married Berrien Williams. Please contact me at sylviadinkel@bellsouth.net . I don't know if the Robert More in 1850 is the same Robert Moore or not. Lets compare notes.

Hi, Jan.

I'm sorry I don't have any information about the Densons, but I am very interested in communicating with you about the Bruce-Morris family.

John A. and Matilda Bruce are my great-great-grandparents. I never knew that their daughter Sarah F. married a Denson, and I never knew that Matida was a Morris. Would you tell me how you know she was a Morris and if you know who her parents were? I know that in the 1870 census (Paulding County, GA) the last person listed in John A. Bruce's household was "Francis Moras, female, 74, domestic servant, born SC," and I always wondered if that might be Matilda's mother and if the surname was Morris.

Any information you may share will be so much appreciated.

Best,
Lowell

Looking for descendants and graves of Francis Little and wife Mary Ann (maiden name unk). Francis was born SC abt 1775 and died after 1855. Mary Ann was born Ireland, UK about 1785 and death UNK. Their farm was in the 839 GMD of Paulding CO. As prosperous a family as they are it is strange that there are no graves or roads named for them. A stream of water, Little Creek, seems to run in the general area of GMD 839 and that might be the only artifact.
Associated names, Bomar, Malone, Luther.

Thanks for your response.
I saw that census but it is very confusing. Elvira J., his wife, was only 18. Somehow I have to find out the children of Jeremiah Elders & Harriet Stubbs in Liberty GA. Haven't had any luck yet except for one Aaron that was living with Abner Stubbs the year his mother died.

I found this post below by a Jim Elders but haven't had any luck in contacting him. His posts are very old.

I am one of the Elders (with an s) from GA. My Elders came into Liberty after the Revolutionary War. Some counties with kin are: In South GA; Liberty, Bulloch, Tattnall, Evans. Two brothers James and Jerry (Berry) went to the area around Rockport. My ggfrandfather Jeremiah Elder(s) is found on the 1850 census in Cobb County, and 1860/1870 census in Liberty Co. Some people are having difficulting in separating Jeremiah Elders who married Elvira Jane Lee. They kept Jeremiah's children by a previous marriage to Harriet Stubbs. Common names are James, Abner, Aaron, Jeremiah, John. The Berry you are asking about may be Jeremiah Abner Elder, Jeremiah's son, who went to North GA with his brother James. The Atlanta Constitution has old articles about a Mary Fagin who was murdered around 1912. It was a big case with several articles run in the paper. Mary was the daugher of James or Jerry (Berry. Email me if you have any notes, etc.

He married Rosanna Gore in Paulding Co. 13 Oct. 1853.
He is buried in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
In the 1880 census he is listed as a farmer with wife "Roseana", and children, Elizabeth, Lucy A., Jerry, Abner, Panny (actually should be Penny, my gg grandmother) and Loise. Penny moved to Lookout Mountain, Dekalb County Alabama after m. Thomas Dave Wells in Paulding County. I am aalso a descendent of the Griggs from Paulding Co.
Hi, I would love to have a copy of that book. Are they still available. I used to live in Atlanta, Douglasville area. My father's family was from Paulding county, mostly. James Alton Trapp, son of William Arnold Trapp who was married to Minerva Ann Peek, William Arnold was the son of James F. Trapp who married Martha Julia Hodges. James F. died in the civil war and she moved back to Fayetteville to live with her parents.

I have said a lot, but really I just am interested in obtaining a copy of the book.

I have a Elizabeth Betsy West in my background. She was married to Jesse Hodges. They had a daughter Martha Julia Hodges who married my Great grandfather, James F. Trapp. He was killed in the civil war and when he died she moved back in with her parents in Fayette county. Just thought maybe it could be a connection.

Looking for Brewers and Peeks. Joel Brewer married Nancy A. Peek in 1849. They and Susan Brewer (supposedly Joel's mother) are in the 1850 Paulding Co. census. They lived in the part of Paulding that became Polk Co. in 1851, but I need anything you can find before then. My maternal grandmother was a Sparks - they could have been in the area also.
Thanks,
Jo Brewer Patterson

I have found no information regarding Permelia - these people are my great great great grandparents. I would like to see or share any information that you have or need. Thank you!
Homer P. Johnson a.k.a. "Pick" Johnson

I am looking for the family tree of Homer P. Johnson (who I believe was also known as "Pick" Johnson).

If Homer P. Johnson is indeed "Pick Johnson", he was married to Sarah E. and was born around 1865.

I BELIEVE he had a daughter, RUTH, who later became Ruth Graham (married to Chester Graham of Hiram). I do not know if Homer and Sarah had other children.

I am looking for previous addresses, land records/deeds, photographs, etc. I believe that Mr. Johnson built the house that I am currently restoring near Nebo Road. It was built in approximately 1892. Original records state that it was located between McClung Road and Nebo Road next to Pumpkinvine Creek. (Not much of a description.) I would love to have a family tree so that I can contact these decendents to see if they have any knowledge of history of the house.

This house was later purchased by Claud Hurst (not sure if that is the correct spelling). I am not sure if there was another owner after Mr. Johnson and prior to Mr. Hurst.

I would like to find ANY decendents of these people to see if they have any information about the house or if they have ever BEEN in the house or have knowledge of it.

RE: pictures of the cemetery or church

I happen to have taken pictures in the Old High Shoals Cemetery in Dallas, GA; and have pictures of grave markers for the above. I see that your post is from 2007. If you are still interested, please contact me at samorrissey@charter.net and I will email them to you.

My gggg grandmother Sarah Anderson (Lee) is also buried in Old High Shoals Cemetery. And while there saw the Edwin & Thena graves ... and thought that my Sarah might be related to Edwin, so I took a picture of the grave sites.

Sharon Morrissey
