Thanks for your response.
I saw that census but it is very confusing. Elvira J., his wife, was only 18. Somehow I have to find out the children of Jeremiah Elders & Harriet Stubbs in Liberty GA. Haven't had any luck yet except for one Aaron that was living with Abner Stubbs the year his mother died.
I found this post below by a Jim Elders but haven't had any luck in contacting him. His posts are very old.
I am one of the Elders (with an s) from GA. My Elders came into Liberty after the Revolutionary War. Some counties with kin are: In South GA; Liberty, Bulloch, Tattnall, Evans. Two brothers James and Jerry (Berry) went to the area around Rockport. My ggfrandfather Jeremiah Elder(s) is found on the 1850 census in Cobb County, and 1860/1870 census in Liberty Co. Some people are having difficulting in separating Jeremiah Elders who married Elvira Jane Lee. They kept Jeremiah's children by a previous marriage to Harriet Stubbs. Common names are James, Abner, Aaron, Jeremiah, John. The Berry you are asking about may be Jeremiah Abner Elder, Jeremiah's son, who went to North GA with his brother James. The Atlanta Constitution has old articles about a Mary Fagin who was murdered around 1912. It was a big case with several articles run in the paper. Mary was the daugher of James or Jerry (Berry. Email me if you have any notes, etc.
