I'm trying to determine if John McCarty and Polly Walker who married December 13, 1808 in Oglethorpe County may be the parents of my gg- grandfather John McCarty. He was born ca 1818 in SC. He married Caroline Raiford in SC, spent a few years in Alabama, then settled in Macon County, Georgia by 1860. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
