Dear Bernice,

Thanks so much for your reply. I am interested in the information you provide and any other recollections you have of "living on old highway 2." Also, photos of your family, house, school, church would also be of interest.

I am not as familiar with the area on the east side of the Cohutta Wilderness, although I have been there a few times. I am not familiar with "Devils Den."

There is a picturesque old house right by a bridge over a creek (perhaps Fightingtown). I took a picture of it several years ago. Are you familiar with it? Do you know anything about it?

Do you have any memories of traveling the old road from Higdon to Dyer Gap to Flat Top Mountain to Cisco? When? What was the road like then? What about communities, homes, scenery?

What did your dad do? What school and church did you attend?

As you can see, I am interested in most any memories you have of this area.

Sincerely,

Dan Roper
