To whomever might read this:
Until today, I have been searching for my husbands BLACK surname only in Comanche County, TX. Yesterday, I was told that his g.g.grandfather Sam Black and wife _____ Swink were both born in GA. So I am trying a hint from somebody's elses Black line to see if they and my husbands line connect. In the 1880 census in Comanche County, TX, it showed that Sam Black was 27 years old, his wife Ellen Swink was 23 years old. Their 2 daughters were born in TX and they were born about (1878 for Minnie and 1879 for Belle). Also it said that Sam's parents were both born in NC. So if there is any connection please let me know. Also Sam had a son named Elic Hodges Black born March 4, 1877 in Comanche County, TX. Elic is my husbands g.grandfather. Elic died in NM on 12/24/1940 in Silver City, NM (Grant County).
So any clues please email me with them. I will take all clues and all suggestions.
