May 23, 1924 - IN MEMORY OF MRS. E. M. HOBBS
Truly death leaves a stinging mark, when the death angel entered the home of Mr. E. M. Hobbs, on the eighth instant and bore the spirit of his sweet companion, Mrs. Belle Seay Hobbs, to its Heavenly home. The sad intelligence of the demise cast a shadow of grief over every heart. She having been a resident of Oglethorpe for several years. She was fifty years of age at the time of her death. Besides a husband and one son, Gilbert Hobbs surviving here are three sons and one daughter by a former marriage: viz: Messrs. George Hatchett, Fred Hatchett and Mack Hatchett and Mrs. Dent of Montezuma; three brothers and two sisters; viz: Messrs, Tim Seay, Joe Seay and Jack Seay of Fort Valley, Mrs. Gillis and Miss Tiny Seay of Montezuma, besides a host of relatives and friends.
