Departed this life in Macon County, Ga., on the first day of April, 1840, REV. ELIAS JORDAN, aged 36 years. Mr. Jordan was a local preacher of the Methodist Episcopal Church; left a large family, consisting of a wife and children.
[Note: Rev. Elias Jordan - Born September 13, 1804 - Died April 1, 1840 is buried in Travelers Rest Methodist Episcopal Cemetery located at fork of Co. Rd. 84 & 22, just south of Montezuma City Limits.
