Researching Lumpkin Co., GA, family surnames: Shumake, Shoemake, Shoemaker, Carr, Karr. I am a descandant of John Wilburn & Darcus Shoemake/r, that later lived in Buford, GA. Their children: James (Jim), John, Eugene, Samuel (Sammy), Roxie, Hanna, Mary Elizabeth, David. Roxie married Johnny Carr (also Karr), John moved to Danfort, MO, Jim was a batchelor, Mary Elizabeth married Joshua Thompson Holcomb and had following children: Annie Mae, born 1890, Gainesville, GA, Lelia Minervah, born 1893, Abbeville, SC, Mamie Lea, born 1895, Abbeville, SC, James Luther, born 1901, Buford.
