In Cain's "History of Lumpkin County - the First 100 Years", he says "From Jay Jabbers, as reported in The Signal on July 22, 1887. Warming Up. Four preachers preached at Hightower Church Sunday. We enjoyed the first three hours real well. It was a warm time - we mean the weather".
Does anyone know what "Jay Jabbers" was? It sounds like a community newspaper or bulletin for the old settlement of Jay, GA. If anyone has any information on this reference please contact me.
